Eden-Monaro MP Peter Hendy made the announcement as part of a solar package promised if the Coaliton is re-elected on July 2.
“The Dalmeny Community Hall is primarily used by the Rural Fire Service, but this solar system installation will benefit all hall users,” Dr Hendy said.
He said a re-elected Turnbull Government would help community groups in Eden-Monaro to lower their power bills and play their part in reducing Australia’s emissions by providing $100,000 towards the cost of installing solar.
“The Solar Communities program will provide funding for groups across Australia to install rooftop solar PV, solar hot water and battery storage systems for community owned buildings,” Dr Hendy said.
About 350 groups are likely to benefit.
