About 80 walkers and their canine companions ventured out on a gorgeous Sunday.
I thank our stallholders and dedicated volunteers who ran registration and merchandise tents, cake and pet supplies stalls, filled water bowls, and were marshals, organisers and planners.
It was lovely to see so many wagging tails and wet noses; it always amazes me to have so many breeds of dogs, large and small, in one place. An amazing effort was made by so many to dress themselves and their dogs up. Thanks to MC Fraser Paterson and inspector Chris Coddington for opening the walk.
All funds raised in the Eurobodalla stay in the Eurobodalla. We have many inquiries for help with desexing and will do a drive over winter before breeding season. We always need volunteers and foster carers.
Ph 0429 488 200 or meet at Tomakin Sports & Social Club on Monday, June 20, 6pm.

Praise for kids, cry for help at Corrigans
What a great story – Students part of marine debris solution (www.batemansbaypost.com.au).
So proud of those children. Quite a few retired friends and myself, with dogs, frequent the Corrigans Beach end of the beach, from the rock wall to Joe's Creek, where we can let the dogs off-leash. Our daily task is picking up cans and bottles and fishing line etc and depositing the trash in the council bins.
However, there is an enormous task after the recent storms, and the debris on Corrigan's is too heavy for us. It would be lovely if some of the kids from Batemans Bay High School could assist with piling up the heavier items (such as logs) into a convenient pile for the council to pick-up and take away.
Corrigan's is frequently walked by visitors from everywhere. If their are no volunteers, it would be nice if council did the task.

Not convinced
A response to Sharon Piert’s endorsement of Mayor Lindsay Brown (Bay Post June 1).
Sharon Piert is listed as being on Eurobodalla Shire Council's Tourism Advisory Committee. Should this not have been disclosed, as per Bay Post policy on letters, during the election campaign?
It is disconcerting when a tourism advisory committee member endorses a mayor, who supports the status quo on local tourism, when so many tourism operators think that the council's tourism activities have in recent times, achieved little for the industry, despite a large budget.
There seem to be a number of new groups running in this election. Hopefully our shire will gain the leadership and regional development vision we need and a mayor willing to engage and support business, particularly tourism, without cronyism.
