The Eurobodalla River of Art 2016 Arts Prize was officially opened Monday night, when the Judges' awarded the $1,500 prize to talented local artist and designer Keedah Throssell for her work titled “Invasion Day”.

The stunning work by the artist who lives on Araluen Road was an encaustic painting using beeswax as its medium. Sponsors Tracey and Fraser Paterson presented her with the prize at the SoART Gallery, Narooma.
Chairperson of the Eurobodalla River of Art Festival, Sue Barford said that a record number of entries had been submitted this year.
The exhibition is open daily at the gallery from 10am to 4pm until Tuesday, May 31 and is well worth checking out.
The River of Art rolls on with more events this week.
At Narooma's Kinema, Slightly Twisted Productions is putting on a night of acoustic blues this Saturday, May 28 with one of America's legends of blues harmonica Phil Wiggins, along with Australia's Dom Turner from The Backsliders.
Also on Saturday at 6pm, the Moruya Community Film Group will present the short film “The Golds” by award-winning film maker Sue Healey, and then the cult classic Hairspray.
The Eurobodalla River of Art Festival wraps up this Sunday, May 29 with a finale in Narooma, where The Somedays will play their trademark fusion of folk, pop and ballads.

There are lots of artists and businesses involved. Greg Watts has his musical instruments on display at Casey’s Cafe, Jenni Bourke has her sculptures at Whacker’s photo framing and Adriana’s Cafe has artwork produced by Workability.
Bodalla Nursery as the “Meld” exhibition where Peter Smith and Vicki Pamount-Reid present sculptural pieces made from reclaimed steel, stainless steel and copper. Anne Colquitt at Hatsavvy has a display of sustainably produced travel hats.
