The Batemans Bay Hospital Auxiliary has welcomed a donation from Brad and Lorae Rossiter of the Eurobodalla Renal Support Group.
On May 2, the Rossiters presented a $400 cheque to the group.
Treasurer Lainie Harris said they got a new wishlist from the hospital every year.
“We just got this year’s wishlist and it is topped out at $35,000,” she said.
“We have put the items in priority order and we purchase what we can with the funds we have.
“A lot of people donate or purchase an item off the list.
“Some people want to purchase a specific item. We spent $66,000 in the past year.
“We purchased 23 new mattresses.”
This year’s hospital wish list includes a patient lifter (to save nurses’ backs), high-back chairs and a $5000 plasma machine.
Meanwhile, Moruya District Hospital Auxiliary is on a roll, honorary secretary Kath Smith said.
“Members have been busy in the first few weeks of April with the Triennial Fundraising letterbox Appeal,” she said.
"These boots were made for walking and that's just what they'll do: our members pulled on their walking shoes and visited every letterbox from Mogo to Tilba, approximately 9000 letters.”
Wishlist items total $98,000, including for the operating theatre, surgical ward, occupational therapy, sub-acute rehabilitation unit, radiology, maternity, dental, diabetes clinic, renal, emergency, oncology, palliative care and speech therapy and child and family clinic.
Fundraisers include Charity Cash Bingo at Moruya bowling club every Sunday at 2pm, a raffle on May 5 between 9am and 12 at Woolworths Moruya and a street stall on June 11, between 8.30am and noon. A Narooma Kinema fundraising matinee will be held on July 17. A Book Fair will be held on August 5-6. October will be a big month for the auxiliary, with an Open Garden event, the Granite Town street parade in October and the Tuross Head fair.
