Several Telstra customers have told the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner that when the power goes out, which has been regularly due to flying foxes getting zapped on power lines, their mobile phones also lose reception.
“We have back-up batteries at our mobile base stations that are activated in the event of a power outage and we have been examining these in recent days,” a Telstra spokesman said.
“We are in the process of replacing the batteries at our Malua Bay base station and we believe this will resolve the issue some customers have experienced with their services during power outages.”
