A group of 10 read through two scenes of the play, acting out the various roles, with possibly more mirth than was ever intended by the author!
This created a better understanding for the group of the interplay between characters and how Shakespeare achieved this interplay in the setting of the scenes.
However, the Shakespeare group will be in recess for the next four weeks while Stories in the Dark takes centre stage at the Gregory Street Bay Playhouse.
Commencing with a preview matinee on Saturday, May 7, Debra Oswald’s Stories in the Dark will run from opening night on Friday, May 13, through to a final performance on Saturday, May 28.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see some of our young actors, under the direction of Di Minihan, bring to life the story of two young people caught up in the midst of a war-torn city under siege.
For some of the young actors, this will be their stage debut, and all have been rehearsing tirelessly.
“Over the past few weeks we have been busy introducing sound and lighting,” director Di Minihan said.
“So, with the roar of a dragon and the gentle sounds of lute and flute one would wonder just what this play has to offer, and the answer is something for all the family!
“Don't be fooled by the angelic face of our handsome king, or judge too harshly our prowling she-wolf, but do come along and share in the wonder of live theatre right here in Batemans Bay.
“Our senior youth have worked very hard these past few months to bring this wonderful play to the stage and they await, with much anticipation, an audience ready to explore the journeys of Anna and Tomas as they survive their daily challenges.”
Tickets for Stories in the Dark can be purchased from Bargain Box, Shop 6 in the Homemaker Centre, 2 Cranbrook Road, Batemans Bay or by phoning 4472 5984.
