For the fifth year, the Eurobodalla Family Network is putting on the expo at Moruya’s Riverside Park to showcase community and health services available to families of young children.
“It is hard to promote these services and this is a great way to get the word out,” Eurobodalla Family Network project officer Anita Macartney said.
Ms Macartney said that the event had grown and this year there would be stall holders with baby products for sale.
“The Coast Kids Market and another similar market at Narooma served a great purpose and our surveys in previous years have shown that parents want that,” Ms Macartney said.
“We are expecting over 45 stalls.”
Expo organisers want it to be fun as well as informative.
“We are asking the stall holders to provide fun activities for the kids, to keep them happy while they talk more serious matters with their parents,” Ms Macartney said.
“We want to make it a fun day for all ages.”
There will be a drive-through child car seat restraint check, and bookings are preferred (call Eurobodalla Shire Council safety officer Heidi Hanes on 4474 1000) but not essential.
The will be a free clothes swap, and free show bags with Eurobodalla child care information inside.
The expo will also serve as a collection point for Share the Dignity.
“This ensures that at-risk and homeless women have access to sanitary items when they need them the most,” Ms Macartney said.
Also there will be Inonmi Yoga, the Dancing Owls music group, the PCYC demonstrating kids’ boxing, Point Personal Training doing exercise with the children, Stepz Dance Academy, DJ Matt Brown and magician the Great Zamboni, as well as lots of prizes and giveaways, including a lucky door prize.
Entry to the Expo is free and it will run from 10am to 2pm at the park, “behind the markets.”
“We had about 800 last year and we are expecting more than that his year,” Ms Macartney said.
