Most of our beaches in the Bega Valley Shire received the highest rating, with results showing less than 41 Enterococci colony forming units (CFU) per 100ml of water.
Even though Mogareeka Inlet is currently rated as ‘fair’ council advises it is still suitable for swimming.
The threshold for water not suitable for swimming is more than 201 enterococci CFU/100ml, they advise.
“Beachgoers can swim and play with confidence, knowing that the Sapphire Coast still offers some of the cleanest beaches in NSW,” council said.
