WOMEN’S GOLF
Last Wednesday, division one was won by Jan Lumsden with 35 points. The runner-up was Chris Edwards with 33 points on a countback
Division two was won by Barbara Roberts with 38 points. The runner-up was Penny Dye with 33 points.
Division three was won by Noeline Levi with 32 points. The runner-up was Joan Henrick with 28 points.
Nearest-the-pins were won by Vicki Goodwin on 5th; Jenny Nelson on 6th; Barbara Kennedy on 12th.
The long drive was won by Chris Edwards.
On Wednesday, February 10, the ladies played a Stableford. (See attached photo of winners Sue Wallensky, Jean Hay, Noelene Levi)
Division one’s winner was Sue Wallensky with 38 points. The runner-up was Jan Lumsden with 34 points on a countback.
Division two’s winner was Jean Hay with 37 points. The runner-up was Viv Thornett with 35 points.
Division three’s winner was Noelene Levi with 31 points on a countback from Phylis Reid.
Nearest-the-pins were won by Jenny Nelson on the 5th; Sharon Knight on the 6th; Barbara Swain on the 12th.
The longest drive for Division two was won by Barbara Swain.
On Saturday, February 6, the ladies played a Stableford which was won by Sharon Knight with 34 points. Sharon also won the nearest-the-pin.
MEN’S GOLF
The February Medal was played for on Saturday and the A grade medal winner with nett 68 c/b Connor Takacs.
A grade gross winner with 76 c/b Brad Corkery.
A grade nett runner-up John Wassell.
B grade medal winner with 66 was George Clulee.
B grade gross winner was Noel Clulee with 86 c/b.
B grade nett runner-up was Peter Hazelton with 70 c/b.
C grade medal winner was Mick Wells with 67 c/b.
C grade gross winner was Gordon Harris with 87.
C grade nett runner-up was Dave Hammond with 70 c/b.

TUROSS HEAD COUNTRY CLUB
MEN’S GOLF
The monthly medal stroke and putting competition at Tuross Head Country Club has always been considered the premier event of the monthly golf calendar.
Last Saturday's event, played under ideal course conditions on excellent fairways and groomed roughs, was no exception.
Divided into three divisions Ian Lawson was successful in winning the A grade with a score of 70 edging out consistent golfer Ken Brown on a countback.
Bruce Martin was the best in B division returning a score of 70 with James Paton filling second spot with 73.
C division player Paul Pereira won this section with 74 with Darren Wilmouth filling second position.
Colin Houghton had the best off the stick score with 73 strokes.
The putting competition for the 18 hole event was won by Frank Pomfret with 23 putts.
Nearest-the-pins were won by Dave Gray on the 4th with 3.23m in the A grade section.
Bruce Lidbury was best on the 6th with 0.98m and Peter Hogan was closest on the 7th with 10.50m.
In B division Ron Rogers won the 4th with 6.34m. Ian McManus took out the 7th with 1.76m and Bruce Martin won the 7th 22m.
In C grade John Eglitus won the 4th with 2.95m and Sean Bamborough was closest on the 6th with 3.09m.
The golden shot competition held on the second hole was won by Colin Houghton. The coming Saturday event is the Scoty stableford round.
WOMEN’S GOLF
The weather was just right for the 21 ladies who set out to play in a two person stableford aggregate event.
The winner’s were Chris Wratten and Annette Manton, with 53 points.
Second place went to Kath Gannon and Jennifer Gray with 52 points after countback from Leonie Snodgrass and Pauline Nash also with 52 points.
In fourth place it was Gayle MacAlpine and Ann Challender with 51 points and fifth place went to Leonie Doolan and Judy Apps with 49 points.
The golden hole in division one was won by Debbie O’Connor and in division two it was Ann Challender.
Next week will be a single stableford event.
VETERANS’ GOLF
It was great to see 66 starters on Wednesday, one of the biggest groups for a long time, set out to play in a stroke & putt event.
The winner was Mike Birks with a 32 net.
Followed by Kath Gannon with a 33 net after countback from Don Russell also with a 33 net.
The Bradman’s was won by Geoff Ollie (visitor) and the accuracy drive went to Tony Crook.
Nearest-the-pin winners:
Fourth – Greg Smith. Sixth – Bruce Martin. Seventh – Gayle MacAlpine and Don Russell. Balls went to Greg Ware 33 net; Richard Kelly, Ian Wratten, Frank Pomfret, Peter McRae and Greg Smith 34 net; Kevin Dukes, Bruce Ware and Leonie Snodgrass 35 net; Errol Soden, Tony Crook and Alan McLeod 36 net; Ross Hendy, Ron Hanlon and Terry Lunn 37 net and Carol Clarke and Len Rogers 38 net.
The putting competition was won by Ken Brown with 13 putts.
Next week will be an American foursomes event.

PENNANT SERIES
On February 7, division one played at Narooma Golf Club.
Mollymook def Catalina 3/2, Bermagui def Moruya 3/2 and Narooma had the bye.
At Eden, Pambula-Merimbula def Tathra 3/2, Tura def Bega 4.5/0.5 and Eden had the bye.
In division two at Narooma, Moruya def Mollymook 3.5/1.5, Narooma squared Catalina 2.5/2.5 and Bermagui def Tuross 4/1.
At Eden, Pambula-Merimbula def Tathra 3/2, Tura def Bega 3/2 and Eden had the bye.
In the seniors’ division at Narooma Mollymook def Catalina 3.5/1.5, Bermagui def Moruya 4/1 and Narooma had the bye.
At Eden Pambula-Merimbula squared Tathra 2.5/2.5, Tura def Bega 3/2 and Eden had the bye.
In the juniors’ division at Narooma Catalina def Moruya 4/1.
Mollymook had the bye
Southern division starts on Sunday.
