Meanwhile down at Tomakin, Vi Merritt's group enjoyed a jug of Sangria, whilst listening to "Double Shot" jazz group. There is music on every Sunday afternoon somewhere in our district folks, so get out there and enjoy yourselves.
It's a tale of two pretties, two lovely young ladies leaving our surrounds to further their learning. Brisvegas has beckoned a Bay High barista babe, that being high-achieving Batemans Bay High School 2015 HSC student and Michel's Patisserie Village Centre cappuccino creator Madeline Wood.
She is about to start a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Queensland, so will be moving to Brisbane. The course will give her a chance to pursue her dream field of curation, as in museum curation.
East Lynne resident and half Australian, half-American parishioner of Cross Central Church at Surfside, Madeline Woods, has just moved to Loftus in Sydney for Year 13, a Christian ministry gap year for school leavers who want to take a year off and focus on growing their relationship with God.
Jenny Scott has just returned from her home town of Bairnsdale, Victoria, helping her big sister move house. While there, she got the chance to have lunch with two old school friends who went through primary and high school with her.
They both still live there.. Just for old times sake, they had lime spiders with their lunch, in a new cafe called "Cells", which is situated in the old Bairnsdale Police Station. All the menu items have names like cells, sergeants, cops, locks and keys, etc. I want to go to Bairnsdale just to experience that now!
“Stephanies” craft shop in Moruya is opening a new coffee nook in the front section of the shop on Monday! Barista extraordinaire Inge Browne will be serving the beverages, so it will be great!
We are still enjoying lots of visitors in town, including Paul and Dianne from Spring Farm, holidaying at Murramarang. Paul found a great hat which he was hurrying off to purchase!
Saad Abas and his beautiful wife Laila from Chester Hill have been coming back to the Bay since they discovered it two years ago. They stay at Batehaven and really enjoy our beaches.
Osam Khairi and beautiful wife Priscilla from Tuggeranong in the ACT, also enjoy the Bay's beaches.
In town from Bairnsdale on her way to Bermagui for a dog show, Dianne Whiteside was excited about her side trip to the Bay to do a bit of shopping.
Border collies Haise, Marty and Sven had not let her down and scored several prizes in the show.
Jay Jay's Debbie Lorensini from Longbeach is really excited about the new twigs arriving on her family tree! Both daughter and daughter-in-law are expecting the first week in September.
Valentine's Day Monday folks, so be like Hannah Beecher and cook up a romantic dinner for your partner. Hannah has “something chocolate” on the menu for her partner Maddy Goodwin.
Locals out and about from Moruya, shopping in the Bay, Raylee Spackman and her daughter Sophie Spackman were on the hunt for a special purchase which I could only guess at?
Shahnaz Martin from the Bay was in town checking out the “pop up” shops and what the local shops have to offer.
Pam and Colin Carkeek from Cobram enjoyed dining at the Malua Bay Bowling Club with old friends from the Bay Don and Jenny Burgess.
Next week's Fashionista is going to be fabulous (but then they all are!) Vickie Styles is turning 40 and planning an amazing black and gold party! Her dress is divine.
The theme is Roaring 20's and husband Shannon is going to look like a ’20s movie hunk! Also attending Ainsley Ratcliff and husband Josh from the Bayview pub. How these gals can look so fabulous when they both have twins is amazing...you go girls!
Welcome back to Tomakin Leonie Lloyd!
A big wow! for the service given by Lyndel and Belinda at Maccas over the holiday period. They were going like the clappers but still smiling and making folk feel welcome to the Bay!
I enjoyed a birthday in Canberra as the guest of my two wonderful friends Julie and Lydia who took me to the “Wedgewood Tearooms” at the ANG for High Tea … it was oh so posh and delightful!
