President Doug Williams announced the club is looking to start up to three new teams for the season.
“We had a great start with intra 9s, under 11s and under 13s in 2015, and the under 11s made the grand final which was fantastic,” Williams said.
“We’re going to build on that foundation by entering an under 16s team in the SCAFL to continue to build a pathway for our players to develop, so if there are any kids out there who were under 16 on January 1 you’d be very welcome to be part of that team.”
The Giants are also entering the senior competition and will field a women’s team and a developmental grade team.
“The SCAFL is starting a women’s competition for 2016 and we’d love to be in on the ground floor of this great initiative, so we are sending out the word that any females, 14 and over, who would like to play Aussie rules in an all women’s comp should drop us a line and join us in 2016,” Williams said.
He encouraged any boys over 16 or men, who would like to play in the casual competition, to join the development grade team.
“It’s guaranteed to be a lot of fun guiding younger players and recapturing lost youth,” he said.
Registrations are now open at bmgiants.com, and training will start on March 1 at Gundary Oval.
Registration fees for all BMG competition grades are $105.00, and registration for intra-9’s is $75.00.
