A man appeared in court Tuesday charged over an alleged assault during a home invasion at Moruya.

Just before 12.30am on Australia Day, a man allegedly forced entry to a home on Hawdon Street and confronted the occupant, a 69-year-old man.
It’s alleged the man assaulted the occupant with a metal pipe, before forcing he and his grandson to leave the house with him.
Police were alerted and officers from Far South Coast Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
The 69-year-old man was taken to Moruya Hospital for treatment to facial and leg injuries.
A 46-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence; assault occasioning actual bodily harm; kidnapping (two counts); and assault.
The man was bail refused to appear in Batemans Bay Local Court.
