Sunday 3.30pm: The campers isolated by the Deua River in the Bendethera Valley are now safely out of the campground, according to the SES.
A total of 41 campers stranded in flooding for a week were escorted out on January, 10, the SES says.
SES Illawarra South Coast incident controller Ashley Sullivan said just before 3.30pm he was informed all campers had left the site, in the remote Deua National Park, west of Moruya.
“I have just been told that all the campers were escorted out this afternoon, all safe and well,” he told the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner.
The campers have been stranded since the night of Sunday, January 3, when torrential rain fell in the Deua River catchment, cutting a group of 41 campers off, including an eight-month-old baby.
