Police said that a white Toyota Hi-Ace van driven by a 24-year-old Goulburn man with his 21-year-old passenger was heading west and negotiating a right hand bend on the Kings Highway about one kilometre east of the Misty Mountain turnoff at about 5.25pm when the rear wheels began to slide.
He attempted to correct the slide but lost control and the vehicle spun in a clockwise direction over double lines before hitting a railing, going slightly airborne and landing on the passenger side.
Emergency crews arrived and under the direction of paramedics, Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue firefighters removed the men from the vehicle.
He was taken to The Canberra Hospital by ambulance.
The highway was partially closed and police and Rural Fire Service firefighters directed traffic.
Police investigations into the crash are continuing.
