Rosemary Priscilla Mackie, 52, made a brief appearance in court on Wednesday, December 2, charged with murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Mackie remained silent and entered no plea to the charges.
Her defence counsel Geoff Knox did not apply for bail and it was formally refused by registrar Virginia Scanlon.
The case was adjourned to December 15 when Mackie will appear in Bega Local Court by audio visual link.
Outside the court, Mr Knox said it was unclear where Mackie would be remanded in custody.
“She will be taken to wherever there is room,” he said.
“The overcrowding of jails is out of control.
"I have had clients remain in the police cells for days.”
