Students from Batemans Bay to Eden studied the course this year.
Nicole Boneham, 17, from Tomakin completed the course as a school-based trainee and was looking forward to working full time.
“It is good to be finished. It has gone so quick,” she said.
“I finish year 12 next year and then I will work full time.
“At the moment I am working two days a week.”
Cutting and dying hair were her favorite parts of the trade.
“I really like it all, though,” Nicole said.
“My boss is awesome, she has taught me heaps.”
She was glad she could now concentrate on year 12 studies.
Eve Castrisios, 17, from Batemans Bay enjoyed being able to make a “dramatic change” to a person by changing their hairstyle.
“I like coloring because it is fun,” she said.
“I still have a year to go of my apprenticeship, but I am finished TAFE for good.
“I want to stay in the area.”
Narooma’s Rachel Batson was excited about the future.
“Coloring is my favorite part because it is what I am best at,” she said.
The 18-year-old started studying hairdressing when she was still at school.
Katie Close, who travelled from Bega, said she had improved a lot since she first started the course.
“I love doing bright colors in hair,” she said.
“I am excited to get TAFE done but I will miss it.
“I never really thought I would do anything else.
“I was always interested in hair and beauty.”
She wants to travel with her new skills to London.
Moruya TAFE hairdressing teacher Jenny Bamman said the apprentices learnt everything for a successful career.
“They did really well,” she said.
“They have been coming to TAFE one day a week for two years.”
There were 10 people in the class this year.
“Unfortunately not a lot of employees take on apprentices,” Ms Bamman said.
