A mum and her two kids escaped injury after their car burst into flames on the Kings Highway on Monday evening.
The car caught fire at 5.15pm at Pooh Bear’s Corner after experiencing engine troubles.
This corner saved my babies lives. Thirty seconds longer in that car and we would all be dead. But we are not.
A police spokesman said the vehicle was travelling west-bound when the female driver noticed smoke coming from the car.
“The car began to have engine troubles and the driver pulled over,” the spokesman said.
“The driver removed her child and baby before the car was totally destroyed by fire.”
Megan Brown, who was driving the car, posted on our Facebook page after the incident.
“I was driving up the Clyde and my car started to lose power. Pooh Bear’s Corner was the first place I could pull off the road,” she said.
“This corner saved my babies lives. Thirty seconds longer in that car and we would all be dead. But we are not.
“I don't know how or why this happened but we are okay and so is Pooh Bear’s Corner.”
Ms Brown and her two children were taken to Braidwood Hospital to be treated for shock.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Braidwood RFS attended the scene. Batemans Bay RFS were tasked but were stood down on route.
