Carroll College’s senior team of year 10, 11 and 12 students won the toss and batted first at Hanging Rock Oval.
Openers Harry Shannon (20) and Brody Saker (29) led the way with healthy contributions from Jamie Dufield (19) and Brendan Blackmore (19).
After 30 overs Carroll College finished 8/133 from 30 overs.
In reply, Lumen Christi finished at 9/113 in the 28th over.
Saker took four wickets, Blackmore took two and Luke Wiggins set the tone with a wicket in the first over.
In the year 7, 8 and 9 Berg Shield competition Lumen Christi batted first and scored 7/165 from 30 overs at Surfside Oval.
Samson Ryan top-scored with 63 and opener Tynan Taylor scored 38.
In reply, Carroll College started slowly and was 1/31 after 10 overs.
The required run rate became too great and Carroll was 7/114 from 30 overs, losing by 51 runs.
Jack Hydnes scored 25 not out, Ben Heffernan hit 18 runs and Regan Drew scored 15.
