Debi-Lee Saxton had the best result of Moruya trainers with four-year-old gelding Red Hot Tango winning the maiden handicap (1300m) by almost three lengths from Richard Clarke’s Mrs Willy Nilly and five lengths from the Karen Welch-trained Western Dream.
Braidwood trainer Aaron Clarke bagged another winner at Moruya with Alabasta Bay in the class two handicap (1300m).
Moruya apprentice jockey Melinda Kenny was aboard Alabasta Bay, who edged Matthew J Stephens’ Imminent and Saxton’s Sea Home, with another local Roly Saxton aboard.
John Marzol’s Stark Tony nabbed third in the class one and maiden plate (1650m) and Wade Mathie’s Bella Mist and James Curtis’ King Tides In finished second and third in the benchmark 55 handicap (1425m).
