With a team fielding five debutants and under the guidance of new coach Brett Woolridge, captain Krystelle Westbrook won the toss and made the wise decision to send the opposition in.
In a great team display Bay took 17 wickets and restricted Shoalhaven to 81 runs in their allotted 25 overs.
Sam Wise led the way with 3 for 4, Westbrook and Alana Gallen took doubles, Mark Tuckwell, Luke Shooks, Isaiah Magnus, Kye Forrest, Tom King and Lily Berkrey also took wickets. Kye Westbrook, Oscar Woolridge and Jed Forrest all fielded well, as the team pulled off four great run-outs.
Chasing an adjusted target of 47 for victory openers King and Tuckwell immediately took the attack to Shoalhaven, notching the match’s highest partnership of an unbeaten 35 in just four overs.
The following bats then built on this start, with debutant Will McAteer and Gallen going on to equal top score with unbeaten 16s and King, Tuckwell, Berkrey, Shooks and Kye Forrest all making it into double figures before having to retire.
Bay only lost four wickets in their 25 overs to finish on 4/163 (adjusted to 155).
