Blue was crowned the champion of the Moruya under 17 mixed basketball competition after a hard-fought 54-27 win over Red in the grand final last week.

“Red put up a great fight but Blue proved too strong,” Moruya Junior Basketball spokeswoman Kylie Cursio said.
Jarryd Cursio of the Blue team dominated, and scored a massive 32 points.
Other point scorers for Blue were Damon Hanson with eight points, Declan Cursio seven, Bridget Lunn five and Klaye Van Weerdenburg two.
For the Red team, Brendan Middleton scored nine points, Shannon McCarron eight, Jack Gill six and Joel Monck four.
OCTOBER TIP-OFF
The Moruya junior basketball Friday night competition will start on October 16 at 5.30pm.
Registrations will be taken at Moruya Basketball Stadium on Friday, October 2, from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, and on Friday, October 9, from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
Players can also register by emailing kylie.cursio@bigpond.com.
Players of all skill levels are welcome and it is open to boys and girls born from 1998 to 2003.
