Mr Dunne told us his memories of the two floods.
"When we where on the Bridge at Nelligen (during the flood), it was shaking with all the water built up behind it," he said.
"The water was about 18 inches to two foot higher on the top side of the bridge.
"When boats and caravans come down the river with the flood water they would hit the bridge and disappear under the water.
"It was an unreal site."
Although Mr Dunne was only young during the Batemans Bay floods in 1962/63 (being born in 1953), he said he remembers water being up to his knees in North Street.
"I had to go to the old Hospital in North St for injections and on the footpath at the Police station, the water was not quiet up to my knees," he said.
"Down past where Blandford House was and on the footpath in North St the water was over my knees and up to the second step at the Hospital.
"I remember walking up Beach Road with mum to have a look at where the culvert washed out in the photo (near the Soliders Club, photo 9)."
