The helicopter was sent to the shire shortly after 8am on Wednesday, August 26.
Westpac Life Saver Helicopter CEO Steven Leahy said the crew was sent to the Emergency Operations Centre at South Nowra to be available for rapid response flood rescue operations.
"The SES has asked that the helicopter check the communities of Lake Conjola, St Georges Basin, Sussex Inlet, Shoahaven Heads and the mouth of the Shoalhaven River," Mr Leahy said.
"Aerial footage was taken of those locations and fed to the SES Control Centre at Wollongong."
