Under the capable leadership of Kay Vine, the group was taken on a mini trek up a hill, down behind the houses and along a shortcut through the bush to an exit at Barlings Beach.
The sea was sparkling under the blue skies and a walk along the beach resulted in the walkers dividing into two groups.
Six walkers went inland to have morning tea at Tomakin’s River-mouth Café, while the others chose to walk around the colour-strewn rocks of Melville Point, then meet at the café later.
After an extended morning tea, it was back toward the sea and up the hill to Melville Point lookout.
The views confirmed the realisation of how lucky we all were to live in this part of the world.
The walk proceeded along the beach to the mouth of the Tomago River and continued along the riverbank to a grassy park for lunch.
Thanks were extended to Kay for a varied, very scenic walk.
