The Redbacks trounced the inexperienced Clyde side earlier in the season 19-nil but Sunday’s game was much more balanced.
Clyde had three girls from the under 8s in its side, which was led well by Joshua Smart and David Chatfield as the only children who played last year.
Their experience was highlighted by the tricky moves of Chatfield and Smart’s five goals.
Connor Viles scored Clyde’s other goal and came close on many other occasions despite Narooma’s strong defence.
Alicia Hogan was a terrier, constantly chasing the ball in attack and defence and even saved a goal using her head.
Lori Kobald was equally impressive in defence, unafraid of challenging Narooma’s attackers.
Bella McKenzie and Harper Pollard were put under extreme pressure in goals but the girls proved their worth saving numerous attempts at goal.
At full-time Clyde was a worthy winner, 6-4, in a much improved team effort.
