Plans for Broulee development may have been proposed a long time ago, but it is the kind of development now made public that is bothering the present residents.
All locations and communities do not have to be the same. That’s what people weigh up when considering a move. Broulee is presently a small village which allows many people to spend their holidays away from large cities, but also has residents who prefer the alternative lifestyle.
These residents are aware that they don’t have the full complement of hospitals, schools, transport and infrastructure, but it is their preferred choice, and realise that they will have to travel further on occasions.
The residents are not against acceptable progress and growth, which has been flourishing in the last few years, it is the out of character type of development proposed that worries them.
Indeed, some of Mr Matthews' comments support our concerns. His last paragraph is exactly what we do have in mind - we know what our children want Broulee to be - and that is not what is planned.
