Bonnie Brewer directed a deep kick-off at the home side regained the ball.
Patrick Hogan was passed the ball at pace and made a break forward where Luke Gallen took the ball up the left-hand blind side to score a great try which Josiah Brierley converted from out wide.
Luke Gallen caught the ball from the restart and took it up into Yass’s territory and a ruck formed.
The ball came out to Jackson Blake who cut his way through the Yass defence at speed and ran the field to score a fine try under the black dot which Brierley converted.
Yass earned a penalty deep in the Boars half and scored its first try under the posts despite some good defence.
Blake scored his second try after he caught a pass on the inside from Riley Smith.
He sprinted along the left-hand blind side to score wide out.
Yass defended some strong Boars runs and earned a penalty.
It marched up the field and forced a Boars kick.
A good back line move set up what would be the visitor’s final try.
Just before half-time a Dillon Collier did a quick-tap and he ran through Yass’s defence which was slow to react.
He scored the Boars fourth try of the half and Brierley converted to give his side a 26-14 lead at the break.
The Boars first try of the second half was set-up by good tackling by Myles Duncombe, who forced a loose ball.
Smith picked up the ball and passed to Blake, who ran 50 metres to score under the posts.
Collier successful converted.
More good defence forced a loose ball in the Boars half and back-and-forth play ensued.
Malaki Steadman set up the team’s final try off a scrum play.
He broke through the Yass defence and passed to Gallen, who scored his second try in the corner.
The full-time whistle followed and Batemans Bay was convincing winners.
The under 11s play away against Jindabyne next Saturday.
The Boars under 15s play Grammar at Hanging Rock.
