SKYDIVE Oz senior instructor Jules McConnel says the Federal Government’s $100,000 funding of an extreme sports complex at Moruya will boost the Eurobodalla economy.

The tourism operator welcomed the funding at the official opening of the complex on Friday at Moruya Airport.
“This is money we will be putting back into the community,” Ms McConnel said.
“We will be able to attract people from Canberra, elsewhere in NSW and the rest of Australia, and they will be spending money in the region.
“With our new accommodation, 20 people can stay here for up to a month.”
Eden-Monaro MP Peter Hendy and Eurobodalla Mayor Lindsay Brown officially opened the complex, while Terry Riddle, Toby Whitelaw and Casey and Ted Butler parachuted to Earth to mark the occasion.
Ms McConnel said the tourism grant funding had helped provide more hangar space and improved reception facilities and increased accommodation for skydiving students and coaches.
“We were rapt when it was announced we were getting the grant and it has made a big difference,” she said.
Mr Hendy said the money would allow Skydive Oz to target expanded markets interstate and overseas, particularly in Asia, “showcasing the region’s unique natural attractions to tourists all over the world”.
