There were rides, face painting, dancing, fire demonstrations, cooking, art and craft stalls to keep children and adults entertained.
The annual Koori Cook Off, which is run by the Heart Foundation and the Eurobodalla NAIDOC week committee, visited for the second year in a row and four teams went head-to-head.
Evolve Catering, an organisation employing people with disabilities, won with a seafood dish.
Teams “cooked for health” using traditional ingredients such as kangaroo, pippies, abalone and fish.
Heart Foundation spokesman Andy Mark said it was always a popular event.
“People love it,” Mr Mark said.
“Tt is about encouraging people to cook healthy food.
“We have a cook book called Flavours of the Coast.
“Teams have to cook a meal out of the book.”
Mr Mark said people did not know what they were cooking until the day.
“The quality of cooking is always good and everyone is really enthusiastic.
“It’s about encouraging people to eat healthy and add more fruit and vegies to their diet.
“This is a novel way of doing that - it gets people involved and the community interested in healthy cooking.”
