There was dancing, singing, drumming, eating and laughing in Russ Martin Park for the opening of the two-week festival.
The Deep River Choir and the Egyptian Bellydance Group performed and a drumming workshop was held.
The festival celebrates diversity in the Eurobodalla with several events, including Meet-The-Maker restaurant sessions highlighting international cuisines.
Eurobodalla Shire Council community development coordinator Zoe Morgan was pleased with the turnout.
“It was a really last-minute festival, but it has been lovely,” Ms Morgan said.
“All the colour and song and dance made it a beautiful morning.
“We had the lovely tastes of Nepal to get us in the mood,” she said, thanks to the cooks from the My Nepalese Restaurant, Moruya.
Ms Morgan hoped the community would make the most of the festival over the next two weeks.
“I really hope the community seizes this opportunity,” she said.
“There is something quite unique about our shire.
“We decided to hold the festival because we wanted to showcase the diverse elements of our community.
“It is often quite forgotten, so we wanted to bring it to the forefront of people’s minds.”
