The production of Matrimonial Mayhem At Mogo will be one with a difference – instead of sitting on bum-numbing stools, chairs and fluffy cushions will settle patrons into all the fun and music of bygone years.
While melodrama member Barbara Gellatly has been making the cushions, others have been sewing costumes and creating sets.
“We are looking for a couple of dinner shirts to fit 16- or 17-inch necks,” Barbara said.
“If you have any in your wardrobe, please ring me on 4472 4461.”
As usual, the annual production at the Digger’s Rest Tavern in the Gold Rush Colony, Mogo, are fundraisers – this year for the Far South Coast Ovarian Cancer Support Group, Batemans Bay Hospital Auxiliary, Batemans Bay CWA, and the Red Cross in the Eurobodalla.
Tickets for performances on July 4, 11 and 25 are on sale now at Hooked on Books in the Village Centre, Batemans Bay, or 4472 9250.
Tickets for the July 18 show, at noon, for the Ovarian Cancer Support Group, are available from Sylvia Penberthy on 4471 2082.
Tickets are $46 and include a three-course meal amid a rollicking wedding breakfast set in Mogo in 1882.
The Digger’s Rest has a bar but no ATM.
