Moruya made the long road trip to Bombala with just one reserve and had its work cut out to be competitive.
On its own turf and in front of a parochial crowd, the High-Heelers showed class and skill as they went about the task.
The High-Heelers jumped out to an early 16-nil lead prior to the Sharkettes posting a four-pointer through smart work by Hannah Cadogan.
A late try in the first half put the home team in front 22-4 at half-time.
The Sharkettes started with a new resolve in defence in the second half by working for each other and maintaining a straight defensive line.
Moruya kept its line in tact for 15 minutes before it eventually succumbed to the Bombala pressure, and allowed four late tries.
“The final score of 42-4 flattered the home side and was not indicative of the effort and resolve of the Sharkettes second half performance,” Moruya Sharks secretary John Cornall said.
The Sharkettes’ best were Ellie Doherty, who worked hard all day, Izzy Pike and Stacey Bond.
Bombala High-Heelers 42 defeated Moruya Sharkettes 4 (tries: Hannah Cadogan).
