Phillip Eberle is the lone Queensland supporter, and after NSW broke Queensland’s streak last year, he believes the Maroons’ ageing squad can rediscover its mojo.
“We’re going to win,” Eberle said.
“We’ll definitely win Melbourne (game two); it’s like a home ground advantage there.
“Age will not weary them.”
In such a pivotal match, fans want their team to gain the upper hand with a game one win and Eberle predicted a 19-15 score line in Queensland’s favour.
David Clarke and his fellow firemen are ready to stick it to Eberle if NSW take game one.
“I think it’s a new era,” Clarke said.
Clarke predicted a low-scoring match with the Blues running out 12-10 victors.
