The alternative rock band, which formed five years ago, has a huge number of fans on the South Coast and is loved for its innovative material.
“There are not so many original bands in this area; that’s something we’re very proud of,” drummer Danny Freeman said.
Danny, the director of music at St Peter’s Anglican College in Broulee, says the band writes all its own material.
“Our lead vocalist and bass guitarist Chris McGrath writes all the lyrics and the music is a collaborative effort by all of us,” he said.
Danny, Chris and his brother Mick McGrath, the band’s lead guitarist, rehearse “a few times” a week and have performed 150 shows together since the band formed.
They embarked on a six-week tour to promote their first album last year and are looking forward to a more extensive tour with their second album towards the end of this one.
As for playing alongside Thirsty Merc on May 23, Danny says it’s “unreal”.
“Thirsty Merc is one of the biggest rock acts in the country so it’s going to be a big show,” he said.
Fans shouldn’t be too slow off the mark to buy tickets, either.
“About 300 tickets had been sold by Wednesday,” he said.
Tickets are $30 from the club’s reception, on 4472 4117 or at the door.
The doors open at 8pm and the show kicks off about 8.30pm.
