Obviously, FFTF is about showing the NSW Office of Local Government how councils intend to remain financially viable and give residents quality services, infrastructure and other essential services at affordable costs.
Here in the Eurobodalla Shire it’s difficult to get written correspondence replied to in writing on the matter.
Eurobodalla Shire Council to date has not provided any significant information to residents on the matter and has indicated no public meetings will be held to explain, or hear what people have to say; that is, the ratepayers who pay for council to function.
Council made a submission to the IPART for a six per cent rate increase, knowing that it is inadequate, and that more increases in rates, fees and charges will be required in the very near future even if the IPART supports the increase being sought.
How can the shire’s residents have any faith in Eurobodalla Shire Council and its operations when the councillors haven’t attempted to involve the community in this matter, the FFTF process?
