Roads and Maritime Services says it will review and refine procedures around the lift-span section of the Batemans Bay Bridge after it was stuck in the "up" position for longer than intended on Tuesday afternoon.

"Batemans Bay bridge was stuck in an upright position for a short time on Tuesday," an RMS spokesman said.
"Procedures around the lift-span are being reviewed and refined to improve operations.
"Roads and Maritime apologises for any delays caused to motorists."
