Public dissatisfaction with Eurobodalla Shire Council is finally coming to a head like a festering sore.
A public meeting on May 9 at Batemans Bay Soldiers’ Club will be attended by the member for Bega, Andrew Constance.
Since the council elections in 2012 there has been growing concern with the way council is being managed.
Community respect for council has diminished to lows not experienced since the 1982 dismissal of the then council.
Councillors, for whatever reason, don’t seem to be in any sort of control nor are they responding in the way the community expects to a range of matters brought to their attention by concerned residents.
The meeting apparently has no fixed agenda; those in attendance will be able to talk about all matters concerning them in relation to their business and council operations.
Let’s hope the meeting decides on actions of a positive and productive nature, but, more importantly, the meeting’s decisions cause a change in the way our council operates for the good of the community.
