LIKE most climate alarmists who claim to be convinced by “the science”, Sandy Wilder (Bay Post, April 10) chooses to actually ignore the science when proclaiming her global warming faith by implying that man’s consumption of fossil fuels is, right now, affecting “the poorest people of the world, who are suffering inundation of their land, more frequent typhoons and other severe weathers”.

Here is a direct quote from the Independent Panel on Climate Change’s 5th Assessment report: “Current datasets indicate no significant observed trends in global tropical cyclone frequency since the mid-20th century.”
And again: “There continues to be a lack of evidence and, thus, low confidence regarding the sign or trend in the magnitude or frequency of floods on a global scale.”
And her claim that seasons are noticeably changing is virtually meaningless in any scientific context.
