Kids Helpline is Australia’s only national 24-seven counselling and support service specifically for those aged from five-to-25 years.
Mental health concerns, family relationships, emotional wellbeing, suicide-related concerns and dating and partner relationships were the top reasons young people made contact with the service, the report revealed.
The Kids Helpline Insights 2014 report also revealed young people were increasingly turning to the internet for advice.
The number of kids seeking self-help information has leapt, with more than 2,700,000 page views and the website’s ‘hot topics’ page seeing a staggering 98 per cent increase in views from 2012.
