The guest speaker at the club’s meeting in March was Kim Odgers, who spoke about his book Our Town Our People, an account of men and women in the Batemans Bay district who have “made a difference”.
The club’s April meeting will be held at Club Catalina in Beach Road, Batemans Bay, on April 27 at 11am for 11.30.
The Anzac Day theme will be highlighted by the guest speaker, Lieutenant Commander Tony Beauchamp RAN (retired).
Bookings for the lunch - $28 for two courses – must be made with Barbara on 4472 8975 before 5pm on April 23.
New members, visitors and guests will be warmly welcomed.
Glennis Beauchamp, the club’s publicity officer, says VIEW Clubs of Australia is a women’s volunteer organisation and support network formed in 1960 by The Smith Family as a service to women and the community.
“VIEW members contribute significant funds and volunteer support to help disadvantaged Australian children get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves,” Glennis said.
“The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program supports young people in need all the way through their education, from primary school to senior school and on to tertiary studies if they choose.”
