The Tourism Future-shaping Workshop will be held in Batemans Bay on April 23.
The independently-facilitated workshop will follow five Eurobodalla Shire Council information sessions presented to the business community.
Mayor Lindsay Brown said the workshops would allow stakeholders to offer ideas and collaborate on solutions to problems.
“We are looking at how to improve the way we connect with visitors and how we encourage them to come to Eurobodalla,” Cr Brown said.
The shire has published a discussion paper on visitor centres, including an option that some be privatised.
“This proposal on exhibition has got the tourism industry thinking about how we can do it better and how we should spend the $1.2 million that council invests into tourism.
“There is no shortage of ideas within our tourism industry and I am excited about ways this proposal may open up new opportunities.”
Carolyn Childs, of My Travel Research, will facilitate the workshop.
Participants will be expected to have either attended an information session, met or spoken with council staff or councillors, read the council report and the Visitor Services Proposal in full, as well as the supporting documents on council’s website, www.esc.nsw.gov.au .
The workshop will be held at the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club from 2pm to 5pm.
