Eurobodalla Shire Council has teamed up with Surfing NSW to provide ‘Surfers Rescue 24/7,’ course, from 9am to 12pm at the Broulee Surfers Surf Life Saving Club.
The course aims to teach competent surfers the sills and knowledge that could save a life if they ever find themselves in a rescue situation.
Mayor Lindsay Brown said surfers were instrumental in helping to keep beaches safe.
“Because our surfers are on the beach from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year, they are in a position to help keep our swimmers and board-riders safe even after the summer patrols have ended,” he said.
“I strongly encourage any competent surfers who would like to learn these valuable CPR and board rescue techniques to attend. These are skills that you can rely on in a tough situation and they might save a life one day.”
This course is free but bookings are essential as spaces are limited. To book or for more information, phone 4474 7442.
