More than 200 people attended the event at Moruya’s Adelaide Hotel to support the Irwin family, who lost their 15-year-old son Billy in tragic circumstances in February.
“I was overwhelmed,” Jim Irwin, Billy’s father, said.
“I am amazed at the unbelievable show of support.
“In the past month, the support has been incredible.
“Everyone comes over here and the community has reached out to the family.
“On behalf of the family, I thank everyone who helped organise the night.”
Billy’s big brother, Brent, 23 said so many goods and services were donated, there was not enough time to auction them all on the night.
“We auctioned 12 items and raffled 15, but we still had between 20 and 30 left,” Brent said.
Billy’s cousin, Beth Christensen, said she was “blown away” by the support the family had been given, both on Friday night and since Billy passed away.
“So many people came along, and so many donated; it was so wonderful,” Ms Christensen said.
A cricket day was held to honour Billy’s memory at the Irwin family property on Saturday, and more than 40 people gathered to socialise, have a picnic and play on a century-old pitch.
“There used to be a school here, and the headmaster loved cricket, so he had the pitch put in,” Billy’s mother Julie Irwin said.
“This was a gold mining area and teams such as Dwyers Creek, Nerrigundah and Garland Town played each other.
“This year we are holding it to thank the community, but we want to make it an annual event and make it a fundraiser for a youth cause.
