Forty-seven entrants kicked off the first event of Challenge Batemans Bay as families and curious onlookers lined the sand.
Steve Boxall was the first man to jump out of the water and finished in 12 minutes and 24 seconds, ahead of James Stokes in 13 minutes and two seconds and Damon Brunt in 13 minutes and 12 seconds.
Ellie Gresham was the first female in 13 minutes and 24 seconds, followed by Sarah Gardner in 12 minutes and 32 seconds and Courtney Bicknell in 14 minutes and 25 seconds.
A number of competitors were from the Eurobodalla and were joined by people from Sydney, Queensland, Southern Highlands, Victoria and the ACT.
