Mr Carroll, 58, of George Bass Drive, Malua Bay, was breath-tested on February 17 and returned a reading of 0.051.
Counsel Geoff Knox asked for a section 10 good behaviour bond to be imposed on his client, who pleaded guilty.
Magistrate Doug Dick granted the defendant a conditional discharge and placed him on a six-month good behaviour bond and imposed court costs of $170.
