Skylar Kyu is organising a show to be held at the Batemans Bay Salvation Army Hall on April 26.
“People have been asking me to do shows for kids and I finally have the opportunity do it,” she said said.
“I want kids to be exposed to live music because it’s what I love and what I loved to do when I was a kid.”
Ms Kyu said if youth did not surf or play sport, there was very little to do in the area.
“It’s another thing to do, in a safe environment, where they can just have a good time, parents can know they’re safe and everything is taken care of,” she said.
Dubbed Fuse Music, the show will feature Brisbane five-piece pop punk band Call the Shots, which has been featured on Triple-J unearthed, and Sydney band “Kiss Me!”.
Ms Kyu would love to unearth a Eurobodalla band for the show.
“We’re hoping we can find some local bands,” she said.
“We’d love to know of any young musicians that are out there.
“If you’re thinking of forming a band, but you’re not sure, do it, if you are forming a band, do it, and if you’re just a kid with a guitar who’s written a few songs tell us.
“I need to know of any young kids under 18 who are doing this with a passion.
“I want to give them a chance to play live and get the experience.”
