The lightning competition format will feature 10 teams, including the Seahawks, from Canberra, Central West and the South Coast.
Kiama, Nowra, Ainslie, Tuggeranong, Harman, Belconnen, Molonglo, Bathurst and Cooma will make up three groups and each will play two games of 15 minute halves.
The top team from each group and the best placed loser will play semi-finals at 3.15pm and the grand final follows at 4pm.
Seahawks’ captain Sam Millynn said his side would feature a number of core senior players as well as a few juniors.
“A couple of under 16s are going to step up and it’s a good way to expose them to senior footy,” Millynn said.
“We’re missing some new guys but a few of our core senior players will be having their first run.
“Hopefully we can put it all together and make it to the semi-finals but we’ll see what happens.”
Millynn said it was hard to determine the strength of clubs from Canberra.
“It’s hard to predict the strength of some sides because a lot can change due to player movement,” he said.
“But we expect them to be good quality.”
Games begin at 10am and will be played on the Seahawks’ ground and the rugby union ground.
The club’s major fund raiser, the golf ball drop, will be held at 3pm.
Two thousand golf balls will be dropped from a helicopter and the entrant’s ball which is nearest-the-pin will win $5000.
It’s free entry, a canteen will be available and a band will play upstairs for entertainment after the match.
“Everyone’s welcome to come along and support the Seahawks and to stay around afterwards,” committee member Damon Connick said.
The Seahawks’ regular season begins on April 12.
