Toby says home brewing is an enjoyable, economical and sustainable hobby and uses just grain, hops, water and yeast.
“People can learn how to improve their home brew by using fresh ingredients and understanding the fermentation process,” he said.
At the workshop we will cover making beer from first principles, extracting sugars from malted grains, explore the aromatic world of hops (and even how to grow your own), yeasts and how to keep them happy, using good water to make good beer, and bottling techniques for success.”
Toby says brewing experience is unnecessary for his course.
“It is ideal for home brewers, from novice to experienced, looking to improve their beer and demystify the complex world of home brewing,” he said.
“The beer brewed at this workshop will be served at a SAGE event in May.”
The course costs $40 for SAGE members and $50 for non-members, which includes notes, beer tasting and nibbles.
