A MAN has been arrested in relation to the alleged theft of animals from a Batemans Bay animal park.

Police said a 26-year-old man, formerly of Batemans Bay, who had been wanted on four warrants, was caught on the Newell Highway, at Alectown.
He was travelling in a vehicle at about 9am on Tuesday, March 3, when the car was stopped for a roadside breath test.
He was arrested and taken to Parkes Police Station.
He was charged with 12 offences, including possession of a prohibited drug, break and enter, two counts of malicious damage, entering enclosed lands, larceny, and taking a driving a conveyance.
He was also charged with buy/sell/possess protected fauna and two counts of break and enter.
He faces further charges of entering enclosed land and stealing a motor vehicle.
Bail was refused and he will appear at Parkes Local Court on March 16, via audio visual link.
The matter is understood to relate to alleged thefts from Birdland Animal Park last year.
