The run consisted of a gentle loop in an almost clockwise direction, if your clock goes all over the place like a Tony Abbott explanatory speech.  

Some muddy stuff was encountered, some impenetrable bush, the odd swamp, the odd brackish pond and one or two high-quality quagmires. 

Apart from that it was mostly dry, except for the lakeside beach. 

But no-one, not even the visitors from Dubbo and other assorted blow-ins, were lost. 

Even B2 managed to survive to tell the tale and avoid later falling down the back veranda steps.

Run reporter Double Festa proposed that the course should receive a very generous 6.9 on the Saffir-Simpson Scale. 

This was probably the first time in living memory that a Haemorrhoidic run has achieved a positive score.

After some discussion among the circle of intimates and due attention to the proximity of Australia Day, Pugwash, RA extraordinaire, exercised a captain’s pick so that the person formerly known as Graham will now appropriately be known throughout hashdom as Sir Pository.

Batemans Bay’s Hash House Harriers will return to somewhere close to their spiritual home in Malua Bay on Saturday with the run to start at 4pm.  

With the international globetrotting founder of several Hash Kennels, Inflammable – who never set a short run when a long one is available - setting the trail, there will several scenic wonders, quite a few diversions and a drink stop.  

Also in accordance with tradition there will be excellent food and dancing to loud music afterwards.  

Neighbours have been warned and earplugs issued,” Hash House Harriers’ captain Mal Mann said.
